Company Information

Established in 1956 as contract press toolmakers, the company quickly progressed into the actual blanking of components using conventional power presses. In 1975 the first Swiss fine blanking press was installed to deliver a high quality component, whilst also cutting out costly secondary operations.

The company run by Peter Hill, managing director and Geoff Hill, financial and technical director, has expanded over the years and now proudly boasts 12 fine blanking presses ranging from 250 to 500 tonnes.

Leicester Engineering Services are capable of producing components with a fully sheared edge condition, to very tight tolerances with intricate forms. Due to the complex nature of fine blank tooling, we have our own state of the art toolroom facilities employing the latest technology, such as CAD, CAM, machining centers and EDM (wire and spark erosion). All tooling processes – with the exception of heat treatment – are controlled in-house to provide the customer with the high speed, level of service they require.

Leicester Engineering Services’ philosophy is to provide our customers with an efficient service providing accurate pressings at an economical price. To this end we follow a policy of continual investment and improvement in order to maintain its competitive advantage.

Recent capital investment in automated welding equipment now means we can offer our customers fresh possibilities for the specification of their components.
